Luckily, I can't really taste them; on the other hand, the texture is...not great. I had to fight with my blender today, much more so than usual. I tossed in a bunch of frozen stuff on the bottom and none of the speed settings would break them down. I had to slam the blender on the counter a bit to shift things around, which is probably way more than anyone would ever care about a smoothie. Anyways:

Frozen strawberries-almost two cups (hence the blender issues)
Frozen raspberries-almost a cup
Spinach-about two cups
Baby carrots-about two cups
Yogurt-one carton
Almond milk-about half of a cup; the last of the carton.

Not bad, although again, carrot-texture.

Today's smoothie (definitely a keeper):

Bananas-2
Spinach-about a cup (bonus points for being fresh rather than limp and rubbery)
Frozen strawberries-about a cup
Frozen raspberries-about a cup
yYogurt-one single serve carton (the cream top stuff again. Wow is that good. Still no idea what it means)
Almond milk-about half a cup

Today's smoothie:

Bananas-2
Frozen raspberries-most of a bag
Milk-about two cups
yogurt-none

We're out of yogurt. This smoothie was a milkshake, and way too sweet. Still tasted okay though. Why am I doing these again?

Bleh.

So today's smoothie is brought to you by the letter "N" for Nauseous.

Bananas-2 (overripe)
raspberries-not enough
spinach-too much
yogurt-the last of the carton
milk-about a cup

The bananas were a bad idea. At least they got used up, but this wasn't a good day for smoothie experiment posterity. Tomorrow is another day, I suppose.

And thus, back to smoothie making. All of the bananas we bought for this week are overripe, because I never had time to make anything with them. Oh well, they tasted good when blended.

So anyway:

bananas-2
frozen raspberries-about a cup and a half (the last of an open bag)
spinach-about a cup
yogurt-three (very) large tablespoons
almond milk-about 2 cups
tomato juice-about a cup

Very good, though I'm still stuck with the spicy tomato juice, which makes its presence known in the aftertaste.

I poured in a cup of tomato juice I thought was normal and I didn't discover that it was actually the spicy variety until I'd already finished dumping it in.

Nevertheless, I managed to make it taste okay.

Ingredients came out to:

banana-1
tropical fruit blend frozen fruit (strawberries, pineapple, mango)-about a cup
spinach-1 large handful
yogurt, cream top (I'm not actually sure what this means, but it tastes amazing)-three large tablespoons
tomato juice (spicy)-about a cup
blueberry pomegranate juice-about two cups (to cover up the tomato juice)

It tastes okay now, but it took much more of everything else than I'd been expecting.

Today's smoothie:

banana-1
frozen strawberries-about 1 1/2 cup
spinach-the last of the package, so about half a cup
yogurt-five tablespoons
blueberry pomegranate juice-about a cup

Prognosis? Excellent. Fantastic texture, sweet without being overwhelming, which I'm pretty sure is the juice. Unfortunately the sugar content is also much higher because of that. Either way, great experiment today.

Today's smoothie:

banana-1 & 1/2
fresh strawberries-5
snap peas-10
sliced pineapple-about a cup
yogurt-five tablespoons
1% milk-about two cups
baby carrots-about half a cup

(The reason for the extra everything is hide the taste of the carrots, which I hate, but I'm told are good for me.

Prognosis: It tastes like carrot. Fuck today.

Today's smoothie:

fresh mango-4 slices
fresh strawberries-about a cup
spinach-about a cup
almond milk-about a cup
banana-1
frozen blueberries, blackberries and raspberries-about half of a cup
yogurt-three large tablespoons

Eh. Not terrible, but mango and spinach weren't meant to mix. My mother made one as well:

fresh strawberries-about half a cup
banana-1
almond mild-about half a cup
honey-two tablespoons

She didn't like it the first time around because it wasn't sweet enough for her. After she added the honey, I thought it was way too sweet, but YMMV.

I make smoothies most days, and I never use a recipe. They are, without fail, thrown together from whatever (usually ridiculous) assortment of foodstuffs I happen to have lying around the house on any given day. Hence this post, and any others like it, which I suppose I'll use as something of a digital recipe book. So, for today's ingredients:

spinach-three handfulls
plain non-fat Greek yogurt-three large tablespoons
banana-1
frozen fruits: blueberries, raspberries, blackberries-about a cup and a half
unsweetened vanilla almond milk-about two cups
tomato juice-the last of the bottle (so about a cup)

Prognosis: Not bad, though the almond milk made things a bit more flat than I'd hoped, and the tomato juice gave it a...density of taste that drowned out the more simple tartness of the yogurt and berries. I like it.

We'll see where this goes.
